The PGPP Program targets junior doctors who are undertaking hospital training but have not yet enrolled in a specialty. It gives them an opportunity to experience supervised general practice in a range of outer metropolitan, regional, rural and remote areas.
General practice rotations will average 10 weeks in duration with the principle objective of providing interns with high quality training in procedural and other practice skills in a wide range and depth of clinical situations.
The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) are responsible for managing the program.
