Subsequent

Up to 12 months can be done in subsequent training although up to 6 months of this time may be taken as a special skill.

Subsequent training is that time in training where registrars are practicing almost as independent practitioners but still have access to supervisors and mentors and work within the safety of the training program.

The formal training requirements during this term are greatly reduced from advanced and basic terms and most of the learning in this time is registrar directed and controlled with a greater emphasis on self direction and accessing education “outside the training program”.

It is expected that registrars at this level will attend divisional educational activities and generally access education as they will expect to in the longer term in order to maintain their vocational registration.

This is a transition year but it is also the year that registrars are preparing for and sitting their FRACGP and/or preparing to sit their FACRRM examination.

Registrars will have less direct involvement with Sturt Fleurieu but the program continues to offer support in training and exam preparation.
